Bingo Tournaments

Participation in bingo tournaments is 100% free. There are no fees needed, but bingo player must have an account to participate in the tournament. A username will be required for the account. Under no circumstance will winnings, credits or information be shared between any two accounts. Bingo players are responsible to ensure that their account contain up to date valid information. Accounts containing invalid information (of any kind) will be removed and any winnings from removed accounts are automatically forfeited.

Each valid bingo player account will receive the same amount of credits each day. The credits that have not been used at the end of the day (or at the end of the last game of the day) will be lost. Bingo tournament game times are based on the game server date/time, game servers are located in the EST time zone.

THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT MIGHT RESULT FOR THE TERMINATION OF YOUR ACCOUNT
1.Offensive language in chat to others users
2.Using multiple windows or other methods to be in more than one Tournament Bingo room at a time.
3.Harassment of the website, game, staff or other players.
4.Spamming in chat

There are several free bingo tournaments online. These games are 100% free. All you have to do is sign up and great an account to play. There are no special requirements to play. Some bingo tournaments do require that all players are of age and adhere to juridical gambling laws.

These games are played on a daily basis at a specific time of the day. The bingo games are played based on credits. Think of your credit like your money. The objective is to win as many games as possible to build up your credits. The size of the pot depends on how many players participate in each game. Just as in traditional games when you have a bingo the pot will go to you increasing your credits. If there are other players who have bingo also then the pot is shared. The person with the most credit wins when all credits are tallied at the end of the day.

The prizes are normally very modest in free bingo tournaments. Some free bingo tournaments will give winners cash prizes and non cash prizes. Just as prize is given to the highest daily winners, monthly winners are also rewarded.

The credits you gain in a single day is normally only for that particular day. Depending on where you play credits are not usually carried over to other days. This is to allow a clean slate for all players in games for the next day.

Bingo Chat

All the Bingo sites we recommend have bingo chat rooms to use while you are playing. Some have several rooms.

If you've never used a chat room before, they're very simple and great fun, especially if there's a good crowd in.

You may also be able to carry on a private, one-to-one chat with another player.

Note that in some sites chat is only available in some versions of the game.

Chat Room games are fun extras organised by the Chat Room Moderator.

To participate in Chat Room games you will need to be actually in the Chat Room at the time the game is played and will usually also need to be playing Bingo.

Chat Room games are usually free, and tend to be linked in some way to the ongoing Bingo game. For instance the first few numbers drawn in the Bingo game may double as a lottery or Keno draw in a Chat Room game.

Prizes for Chat Room specials tend to be in the form of 'Bonus' money. This is credited to your account and can be used to purchase cards but not cashed in directly.

How to write a bingo chat message?
1.Click on the message area in the chat window
2.Simply type in a message
3.Our list of bingo abbreviations here will help you write messages quickly and understand messages from other people
3.Most of the chat rooms in our recommended sites also have shortcut buttons for the most frequently used words and phrases. Just click on them and they will appear in your message.
4.Some chat rooms also include 'emoticons' amongst their shortcuts. These are handy little symbols to express your emotions, such as smiley faces, sad faces, etc
When you are happy with your message, display it to the rest of the chat room, generally by clicking on 'send' or 'enter'.

Joining in at Bingo Chat Rooms
You don't need to be playing Bingo to join in the chat. And you don't have to join in when you're in a bingo chat room.

Some people prefer to just read the messages.

Some games have the Chat area visible on a specific part of the screen all the time. In others you need to click on 'Chat' or 'open chat' to open a chat window. 'Floating' chat windows allow you to resize or move the window around the screen, or hide it down below the playing screen.

You may be offered a choice of chat rooms. The names of the different rooms will usually give you a good idea what their theme is. In some cases you will also see listed the number of people currently in each chat room.

All chat rooms operate in very similar ways but you may find slight differences, so check the instructions as you enter for the first time.

Newbies' Tips – Beginner’s Guide to Playing Bingo Online
1.Choose where you want to play.
2.Decide whether you want to play the Download or Non-Download version and click on the appropriate button.
3.You will be asked to Register by providing some simple details - your name, email address, a password etc.
4.If you are playing the non-download, web-based version you will enter the bingo hall and be asked to type in your name and password again.
5.If you have chosen to play the Download version, the download process usually takes only about 5 minutes, but may take as long as an hour, depending on your system and internet connection.
6.Whichever version you are playing, once your password has been cleared you will be asked whether you want to play 'for real' or Free. Some of the the bingo sites call their Free games 'Practise', 'Test' or 'Guest' versions. The games are exactly the same except that in a free game you can't pocket your winnings!
7.If you want to play for cash you will need to deposit some money in the site's bank system. The software will take you through the process of making a deposit. (NB It is usually this first deposit that triggers your sign up bonuses).
8.You can now start purchasing cards. The bingo sites vary in how much they charge per card and how many you are allowed to buy for each game. There are often multi-purchase discounts, and most sites have a ‘pre-purchase’ facility that allows you to buy your cards.
9.When the game starts you are automatically entered as a player. You can opt for features such as ‘auto-dab’ and ‘auto-bingo’ which will mark your card and call Bingo! for you. But even without these you can’t miss a call as the gaming software will still ‘know’ if your card has won.
10.When download is completed you will be taken automatically into the bingo hall where you will need to enter your name and password.

90 BALL VERSUS 75 BALL:

In 90-ball bingo, each card has three horizontal lines and nine columns. Each line contains five numbers, meaning each card has 15 numbers. The first column contains numbers from 1-9, the second column contains numbers from 10-19, the third column contains numbers from 20-29, all the way through to the final column which contains numbers from 80-90.

A game of 90 ball bingo will normally be played in three stages:
one line - game players need to mark a complete horizontal line across one card
two lines - to complete any two marked lines horizontally across one card
Full House - means all the numbers marked off on one card (all 15 numbers), as in a regular coverall game
The prize split differs for each stage of the game. The Full House is always the largest prize in any one game.

BINGO NETWORK:
There are a number of sites that will have the same promotions, similar graphics, the same bingo rooms and the same CMs. This occurs because they are part of a bingo "network". In simple terms, this means a number of different sites are playing with the same numbers for the same jackpot. Multiple sites act as doorways to a single game, leading to larger pools of players in chat rooms and more sizeable pots to win, in an arrangement known as White Label Gaming. While the bingo software is the same, the brand owners are responsible for the look and feel of the site, together with any promotions they wish to offer. This is an important feature of online bingo in that it is critical that any site have enough players to have a decent sized game. The bingo network that "shares" players.

ONLINE BINGO IN UK:
Bingo is now the most popular leisure activity in the UK for women between 20 and 25 years old.The UK market has seen an influx in big brand names launching bingo games on their already established websites.
These are the following:
Virgin
AOL UK
MSN UK
Gala Bingo - biggest based bingo operator in UK

BINGO STATISTIC:
Some 50,000 of the estimated 3 million land-based bingo players now play bingo online. 90% of these are below the age of 50, dispelling the myth that bingo is for the older generation. 85% of online players are women.

Go into an online bingo site and enter the chat room, then you will find that there are significantly more female players there than male players. For that online bingo sites target women aged 35-54 with their advertising.

A recent survey commissioned by St Minver Ltd, showed that the UK was third in a list behind the US and Japan of countries with the highest propensity playing online bingo.

One of the biggest bingo software providers, Parlay Entertainment undertook a survey of the bingo market together with UK bingo players. It derived from its product that of the $150 million global market, the US provided 85% of revenues, whereas the UK was the fastest growing online market.

While the market is growing fast, still only 1% of UK land-based players played online, showing that many have still not made the transition to online bingo.

Rules

BINGO RULES:

How to play: Watch an episode of a show (or a movie). Read for the plot elements listed on your game board. When one comes up, place a penny on that square. When you get five in a row, you win!

Playing with several people: The more the merrier! Whoever gets five in a row first wins.

Playing with one person: Even if you're alone, you can still play against the writers of the show. If you get five in a row before the end of the show, you win. If you don't, the writers actually produced an original script, and they win.

Additional Rules:

1. The center square is free. You can place a penny on it right away... or leave it empty and admire the beautiful picture. Either way, you get the square.

2. Disagreement: A lot of times, people will disagree as to whether a square has come up. In a case where there's a question, here's what you do:
a. If there's several other players, they can vote on whether the square has really come up.
b. If there's only one other player, he or she can veto the square.
c. But come on, be fair. Remember, it's not about winning or losing, it's about making fun of TV.

3. If there's a question about what a square means, go online and check out the complete square list for that board. A lot of the squares are explained.

4. Winning: In order to win, a player must have 5 pennies in a row and shout out the name of the game.

5. Tie:
a. In the event of a tie, whoever shouts the game's name first wins.
b. If it's still a tie, count the number of pennies on the board. The highest number wins.
c. If it's still a tie, it's a tie. Live with it.

5. Making your own board: If you want you can draw your own board. That way, you can illustrate the squares yourself and add in your own phrases. You can also arrange 5 easy squares in a row so you'll always win. This is legal but frowned upon. People who do this are called "Bingo Gapers."

History of Bingo

The history of bingo can be traced back to 1530, to an Italian lottery called "Lo Giuoco del Lotto D'Italia," which is still played every Saturday in Italy. Late 1770 when the game was introduced to France, where it was called "Le Lotto", a game played among wealthy Frenchmen. The Germans also played a version of the game in the 1800s, but they used it as a child's game to help students learn math, spelling and history.

In 1929, the game reached North America, it became known as "beano". It was first played at a carnival near Atlanta, Georgia. New York toy salesman Edwin S. Lowe renamed it "bingo" after he overheard someone accidentally yell "bingo" instead of "beano". He hired a Columbia University math professor, Carl Leffler, to help him increase the number of combinations in bingo cards. By 1930, Leffler had invented 6,000 different bingo cards.

A Catholic priest from Pennsylvania approached Lowe about using bingo as a means of raising church funds. When bingo started being played in churches it became increasingly popular. By 1934, an estimated 10,000 bingo games were played weekly, and today more than $90 million dollars are spent on bingo each week.

A hard card is a Bingo card that is printed on heavy material, such as cardboard, and has flaps or shutters that cover each number as it is called out by the Bingo caller. These types of cards with BINGO spelled out on the top and numbers under each letter typically have the following numbers under each letter:

B: Five numbers between one and 15 picked randomly.

I: Five numbers between 16 and 30.

N: Four numbers between 31 and 45 and the free space.

G: Five numbers between 46 and 60.

O: Five numbers between 61 and 75.
